FRANCE

More than a million passengers per day on the RER, 8 tramway networks

RATP operates the bulk of line A of the RER and the southern part of line B, in the Paris region. Every day the A and B lines transport more than a million passengers, in optimum safety conditions. They cross Paris, joining together all of the districts of the Paris region, on a densely populated route. Line A of the RER is one of the most heavily utilized lines in the world. RATP also operate 3 tramway lines in Paris.

RATP is active in the Paris region, operating under contract with the regional public transport authority, STIF, meeting the quality criteria it has stipulated.

On the RER network, RATP works alongside SNCF to ensure the services on offer meet the real needs of passengers in terms of train routes, timetables and frequency. Complementary measures are taken to improve accessibility, passenger information and rail safety: the installation of lifts in stations and on platforms, controlling train speeds, real-time information in stations and on board trains, and more.

Through its mixed equity companies, TRANSDEV operates tramway networks in Nantes, Strasbourg, Grenoble, Orléans, Valenciennes and Montpellier, where its services integrate fully with other modes of urban transport, particularly road networks.
